Rohit Sharma has equaled the record with Dinesh Kartik scoring the most ducks in IPL history. This unforeseen incident happened in the 14th IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. MI had a crashing defeat against RR in that game where they were bundled out for just 125 runs on the board. Alongside Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir & Dewald Brevis are the other two batsmen who scored a duck in that game. Though the IPL t20 is recognized as a batsmen game altogether sometimes we can see the bowler’s prowess to produce a match-winning performance. Here very often we have seen the longest sixes and 200-strike-rate innings by batsmen. Along with that. there is also another lesser-known stat, the record of Most Ducks in IPL History.
The Indian Premier League is a batter’s paradise, as nowhere else will you witness every player, including the bowlers, going for boundaries immediately after stepping on the pitch. However, this need to be explosive and register big run totals on the scoreboard also results in carelessness. Add to that poor form and match pressure, and players often get out for zero runs. This is called a duck in cricket and is a nightmare scenario for every batsman. Today, we cover the players with the most ducks in IPL history.
List of Players With Most Ducks in IPL History
Getting dismissed without scoring is very disheartening for any batsman, especially when you’re in the top order and have the responsibility of scoring the most. Though the batsmen get a very short time to bat and settle in the competitive cricket of IPL, still some batsmen scored a lot of runs.
Most of the batsmen are very famous in IPL for their explosive batting. Even the bowlers sometimes bat explosively in the IPL to keep the flow of the game, especially T20 cricket format. Batters don’t take any time to judge the pitch or settle down, which is already a luxury in T20 cricket. Plus, when a batsman is not in good touch with the bat, the pressure of the IPL only amplifies, and they crumble.
