Team India led by Rohit Sharma faced Afghanistan for the 3rd T20i match at the famous M Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bengaluru. The Indian captain chose to bat first after winning the toss for the 3rd time in the series. After choosing to bat first, the Indian team tottered at 22 for 4 and their top order was dismissed within 4.3 overs. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 50 in the 13th over of the game and was hitting the ball quite well in the innings. In the 19th over of the match, Rohit scored the 5th T20I hundred for India, the most by any batsman in the world. In the very next ball, he went for a single to bring Rinku on strike who also scored another 50 in the innings.
Both these two batsmen hit five 6s in the last over of the innings, surpassing the 200-run mark on the board. Hitman scored his highest knock in his T20 career with 36 runs in the last over in the innings. Rohit Sharma & Rinku Singh broke all the records earlier and made the highest partnership for India in t20i with 190* runs.
India had the chance to score the first 200-run partnership in t20 internationals but fell 10 short of that in this innings. While in record India scored more than 150 run partnership in t20i cricket by 6 times in history. Rohit Sharma featured 6 times out of the 10 highest run partnerships in T20i’s.
